DUI arrest for local hospital administrator | Crime
Venice, FL - An Emergency Room administrator at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in North Port was arrested for Driving Under the Influence in Venice on Friday.
The arrest took place after Venice Police Department officers noticed 54-year-old David Carter's car parked at the intersection of East Venice Avenue and U.S. 41. As the light changed from from green to red several times, the car remained stationary. The officer found Carter to be sleeping in the driver's seat.
Carter was disoriented and, according to police, admitted to consuming "two, three, four, or five beers" earlier that night. He could not remember his own address and smelled of alcohol. After his arrest, he posted $500 bail and was released Saturday.
The E.R. administrator lives in the 800 block of The Esplanade North in Venice.
