Construction worker knocked off bridge by hit and run driver | Crime
Sarasota, Florida -- Sarasota Police are asking for the public's help in locating a hit and run driver.
Sarasota Police say around 2:20 a.m. Wednesday morning, Larry Norris was hit by a car while working as part of the construction crew. He was knocked over the north side of Siesta Bridge and fell approximately 15 feet to the bottom.
Norris, 60, was taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital. The driver continued on hitting several traffic drums while fleeing from the scene.
The hit and run vehicle is described as a burgundy, 4-door, Lexus. Police say the vehicle should have front end and passenger side damage. The vehicle was last seen on Midnight Pass Road.
Anyone with information on the hit and run vehicle or a possible driver is asked to contact Sergeant Resch of the Sarasota Police Department Traffic Unit at 941-364-7323.
