Mother charged with child abuse, drug trafficking | Crime
SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. -- Sarasota County deputies say a woman already in jail for child abuse was also involved in drug trafficking.
38 year-old Sandra Michelle Freeman allegedly washed her 19-month-old son's mouth out with bleach and chlorine. Freeman's adult son also told detectives his mother forced the young boy to walk through powdered pool chemicals.
Tuesday, investigators added charges of prescription drug fraud and drug trafficking. Authorities say the additional crimes relate to Freeman's abuse and sale of amphetamine-based medicine for attention deficit disorder.
