Boat race festival revs up this weekend | Events

Sarasota, Florida -- Time to rev up for the Suncoast Super Boat Grand Prix Festival. The 28th Annual event starts this weekend with a number of events.

On Saturday morning, golfers tee off at the Aqua Plumbing & Air Grand Prix Golf Classic and the Festival Kickoff Party is Saturday night. The party takes place at the Sarasota Municipal Auditorium with the Greg Billings Band.

On Sunday, snazzy cars will be on view at Lakewood Ranch. Also on Sunday, there's a Boat & Personal Watercraft "Fun Run" on Sarasota Bay.

The Festival runs from June 23 - July 4 and features 18 events. The main event, the Super Boat Grand Prix Boat race, takes place Sunday, July 1.
