Sarasota County, Florida --The Sarasota County School District will operate its annual Summer Food Service Program at various schools and other facilities.
The Summer Food Service Program provides nutritionally balanced meals to any child 18 years or younger who meets the criteria at a particular site to receive meals at no cost. Each site falls into one of three categories: open, open-restricted and closed-enrolled.
At open sites, meals are available to all children, whether or not they are enrolled in a summer program, such as a summer school session, at that site. Children are served on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Open-restricted sites are restricted to the space available at the site for security, safety and control reasons. These sites are designed to serve the children in the local community, who will be served on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Closed-enrolled sites operate to serve only the children enrolled in the program(s) offered at the site.
