Sarasota, Florida -- Sarasota County Emergency Management officials continue to monitor Tropical Storm Debby as it stalls in the Gulf of Mexico. The storm is currently stationary and is expected to have little movement in the next few days.
Emergency crew members are conducting damage assessments Monday morning. Officals say some flooding has been reported near Beach Road along the public beach area and Ocean Blvd. The streets are passable but motorists are urged to use caution and drive slowly to avoid wakes.
Residents should continue to pay close attention to local news media for updates on the situation. Additional flooding, tornado warnings or other urgent updates can happen as Tropical Storm Debby churns across the Gulf of Mexico
