Westfield announces mobile upgrades | News
Tampa Bay -- Westfield Group, which owns and operates 48 malls throughout the U.S., has announced significant upgrades to its free Westfield App v2.0.
Now available in the iTunes App Store, the enhancements feature improved in-mall navigation, expanded product search, enhanced retail offers, social media integration, voice command and even the ability to purchase movie tickets and make dinner reservations.
“After studying the feedback of hundreds of thousands of our shoppers, we found that the majority wanted two things: to get around the mall easier and to save money. Westfield App v2.0 accomplishes both of these things,” said Alan Cohen, executive vice president of Marketing, Westfield in a release.
In a release to the press Westfield Group says with the new upgrade, users are not only able to browse specific products available at all five Tampa Bay area Westfield centers with keyword searches and then sort by relevance, retailer and price, but they are also able to use keywords to search for special events, dining options, store locations and much more.
The new map feature enables users to navigate Westfield Brandon, Citrus Park, Countryside, Sarasota Square and Southgate efficiently. Now when a shopper enters the nearest store as a starting point, as well as their desired destination, the app will guide them turn-by-turn to wherever they want to go.
Shoppers in search of sales and special offers can browse a curated list of the mall’s best deals, making it easier than ever before to save money while at the same time having the ability to compare products and prices available from different retailers.
Finally, for an even more personalized and hands-free experience, users can activate the app’s brand new “Concierge” voice command feature, which is currently undergoing beta testing. A shopper can simply press the “Tap to Ask” button and tell Concierge what they need help with, from “What’s on sale?” and “Where can I buy a gift card?” to “Search for sunglasses.”
After a full day of back-to-school shopping, families can reward themselves with dinner and a movie using the Westfield App. Reservations can be made at one of the Tampa Bay area Westfield centers many full-service restaurants through the app’s Open Table plug-in. In addition, users can browse the app for movie schedules, watch trailers and purchase tickets.
