Lutz, Florida -- Tools, tools, and more tools and they're all for Tim Gunderson. The army specialist received this very generous gift from a 10 News viewer Thursday.
Lakewood Ranch resident Susan Miller-Thompson saw our story Wednesday night and was motivated to do something, so she donated all her late husband's tools to Tim.
"If nothing else, he had the heart of a patriot. So he would have wanted this," said Thompson.
Tim returned to Tampa on Aug. 1 after a year-long deployment in Afghanistan, but when he went to touch base with his job at Tire Choice in Lutz, he discovered the locks on his toolbox had been punched out and his tools were missing.
But that's all behind him now.
"I just wanna say thank you for everything that you've done. It really means a lot to me and my wife that you'd be willing to do something like this," said Tim.
The CEO of Tire Choice contacted Tim and told him he had no idea his tools were missing and sent this statement to 10 News.
"Tim Gunderson is a valued member of the Tire Choice family and we thank him for his service to our country. Tire Choice is a big supporter of our military personnel. We have located his tool box and returned it to him and are looking into what tools may be missing and will investigate this fully."
