SARASOTA CO., Florida -- Sarasota County emergency officials are preparing for Tropical Storm Isaac.
The Sarasota County Emergency Operations Center is currently at a Level 2 activation. Officials are notifying people with specials needs to expect possible evacuation notives by Sunday. They will decide on Sunday whether or not to order evacuations of low-lying coastal areas.
Coastal residents can expect storm surge at least 1ft higher than the highest surge from Tropical Storm Debby. Boat owners should take all necessary precautions, including moving their vessel due to expected storm surge of 3ft or more.
Sarasota County Schools will be closed on Monday.
Sarasota County Government offices including the Clerk of Courts will also be closed on Monday.
