Sarasota, Florida -- The Sarasota County Commission has officially proclaimed March 14 as Sarasota County Libraries Big League Reader Day at Ed Smith Stadium.
For the third consecutive year, Sarasota County libraries and the Baltimore Orioles have teamed up to promote reading through the Orioles Big League Reader program.
Children who read three or more books in the month of February will receive a free ticket to the Wednesday, March 14, game between the Baltimore Orioles and the Pittsburgh Pirates.
"The Orioles have been a great partner when it comes to promoting libraries and literacy," said Sarabeth Kalajian. "The kids love the program because they get to choose what they want to read and enjoy their own special day at the ballpark."
